I love to watch squirrels. My human parents watch a box that they call a television and they seem to be pretty entertained by it. The only time that I really even notice anything on this "television" thing is when I hear a doorbell ringing. I run to the front door of the house barking - doing what I am supposed to do - and my human parents laugh and tell me to go sit down. I look out the door and I don't see anyone. The humans don't get up and look either. Yet I still bark just in case, though, 'cause you never know if someone is hiding out there or not. I like to get the last bark in.
The kitchen eating area in my house has lots and lots of windows and outside these windows are several trees. Just about every morning, squirrels climb up and down these trees. They pause on the limbs right at my eye level and wave their fuzzy tails to get my attention. I think that they are taunting me! I jump up and down and bark at them and then I run to my humans to tell them about the squirrels. They just don't seem to get as excited about them as I do though. I then run back to the windows and bark some more. This is great!!! The only thing that would make this even more exciting would be if I crept up on the little devils and grabbed them! I don't think that's going to happen though. Except one day a couple of months ago, a squirrel fell out of the big old oak tree in front of my house (and I do mean an OLD tree about 100 years old). The squirrel fell - breaking little limbs on the way down - crack, split, crick- and fell "splat!" on the sidewalk right in front of me. I think my mouth flew open - all I could think was "Oh, for me????" and then the darned squirrel got up and ran as fast as he could across the road missing a car and running up the big old oak tree in our neighbor's yard. Darn! I thought he was mine!! I was so surprised and awe-struck, I didn't get a chance to chase him!
I don't understand humans not wanting to chase squirrels - why if just once they chased a squirrel, they'd understand - right fellow blog dogs?
Bow! Wow! till next time

From one dog to another
My name is Liberty Belle. I am a four-year-old female Dalmation. I was adopted from an animal shelter when I was two. My first owner was a police officer and his wife. When they had a brand new baby, they decided not to keep me, so they took me to the shelter. My second human family had several children and I am scared of children and strangers so they didn't keep me long. Back to the shelter I went. I think someone must have abused me since I am scared of strangers, but my memory is a little fuzzy. I don't think dogs are known for having good memories!
The shelter where I was living is a kill shelter. After a period of time, they kill dogs that are not adopted out. I was there longer than that, but the very nice man who took care of the shelter said that I was such a sweet dog and that I deserved a good home. So he let me stay until someone adopted me.
One day a very nice lady came in looking for a pet. She looked at me but was undecided. She came back two more times before she finally took me home. That was two years ago. I am still leary of strangers, but I am certainly not as scared as I used to be.
I want to meet other blog-dogs. I have already met one called Spencer and his family. I will include the link to his blog so you can meet him too.
